I Salute Iraq!

Months later i decide to write again.

This makes me do so.

It is an unbelievable achievement. I cannot still believe that a "Tortured by America", and torn by civil war country, Iraq, won the Asian cup football tournament. I salute their spirit! Way to go! I hope this is the start of good times for Iraq. Their team is a representation of their national unity. Sunnis shias and Kurds are all present in the team, while their mates are fighting it out against each other back home, they somehow managed to gel together and overcome strong opposition en route this amazing success story. They have beaten Australia, South Korea and Saudi Arabia to win the tournament, i wonder if the players themselves have registered this in their minds! Brilliant, hats off guys! Sometimes a sporting success like this can change the fortunes of a country around, hope it happens with Iraq too!

I'm equally amused by their celebrations! See how happy this guy is... But Iraqis are nuts, they celebrate with gunfire, and someone blew up a car right in the middle of people celebrating, killed 25 people! - I wonder what celebrations are planned for this one... I did read that shooting to the sky has already begun! No more deaths please...

Btw, Abdul, thanks for the two photos! The girl is cute :)

Como esta amigo
For the death of those we don’t know
Shall we kneel and say a prayer
They will never know we care
Shall we keep the fires burning
Shall we keep the flames alight
Shall we try to remember
What is wrong and what is right

No more tears, no more tears
If we live for a hundred years
Amigos no more tears

The killing and the gunfire celebrations are unrelated. 50 were killed when some terrorists tried to blow up a celebrating group.
